Governor Dickson Mourns Alamieyeseigha

Seriake Dickson, the governor of Bayelsa state, has confirmed the demise of Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, the first elected civilian governor of the state.

In a statement issued by Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the chief press secretary to the governor, Dickson described Alamieyeseigha’s death as personal loss to him, the government and people of the state.
According to the governor, Alamieyeseigha was a strong pillar of support to the restoration government.
Dickson stressed that the demise of the ex-governor was a painful and monumental loss to the entire Ijaw nation, which he has always stood firm for in all its ramifications.
The governor also commiserated with the deceased wife, Margret, his immediate family, the Alamieyeseighas, and all people of the state, noting that the Ijaw nation has lost a rare gem.
The 62-year-old politicial died of cardiac arrest at a Port Harcourt hospital.
According to family sources, the 62-year-old politician suddenly fell ill in his hometown in Ammassoma township of Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa and was rushed to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital,
